Hollywood Casino at The Meadows has been hit with a hefty $10,000 fine by the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board for multiple violations related to underage gambling and intoxicated patrons.
The violations were brought to light following an investigation by the PGCB’s Bureau of Gaming Operations, which found that the casino had allowed three individuals under the age of 21 to access the gaming floor and gamble. In addition, the casino also failed to stop a visibly intoxicated individual from gambling.
According to the PGCB, the violations occurred on multiple occasions over a two-month period earlier this year. In response to the findings, the gaming board has fined the casino $10,000 and required them to take corrective measures to prevent future incidents of underage gambling and serving alcohol to intoxicated patrons.
In a statement, PGCB Executive Director Kevin O’Toole said, “The gaming board takes the issue of underage gambling and intoxicated patrons very seriously. It is the responsibility of all casinos in Pennsylvania to ensure that they are in compliance with the state’s gaming laws and regulations.”
Hollywood Casino at The Meadows has stated that they are cooperating fully with the PGCB’s investigation and have already taken steps to address the issues raised in the report. The casino has also implemented additional training for their staff to prevent similar incidents from occurring in the future.
This is not the first time that Hollywood Casino at The Meadows has been fined for violations related to underage gambling and serving alcohol to intoxicated patrons. In 2016, the casino was fined $27,500 for similar violations, prompting them to implement stricter policies and procedures to prevent future incidents.
Despite the recent fine, Hollywood Casino at The Meadows remains one of the premier gaming destinations in Pennsylvania, offering a wide range of slots, table games, and dining options for guests to enjoy. The casino is located in Washington, Pennsylvania, just a short drive from Pittsburgh, and is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
Overall, the PGCB’s decision to fine Hollywood Casino at The Meadows serves as a reminder to all casinos in the state to remain vigilant in their efforts to prevent underage gambling and serving alcohol to intoxicated patrons. The gaming board will continue to monitor compliance with state regulations to ensure the safety and security of all casino patrons.
