Seminole Hard Rock Tampa was evacuated twice on Tuesday after two concealed devices were found at the casino, causing panic among staff and guests.
The first incident occurred around 11:30 am when a suspicious package was discovered in a restroom near the casino floor. Security was immediately notified, and the area was cordoned off as the Tampa Police Department’s bomb squad was called in to investigate.
After several tense hours, authorities determined that the package was a harmless hoax, and guests were allowed to return to the casino.
However, just a few hours later, another suspicious device was found in a different area of the casino, prompting another evacuation. This time, guests and employees were forced to evacuate the building for a second time as the bomb squad once again conducted a thorough investigation.
As tensions mounted and rumors spread throughout the casino, many guests expressed fear and frustration over the repeated evacuations. Some were seen clutching their belongings tightly as they were escorted out of the building by security personnel.
“I can’t believe this is happening,” said one patron. “I just wanted to have a fun night out, and now I’m stuck standing outside in the heat waiting to go back in.”
Despite the inconvenience and anxiety caused by the evacuations, casino officials commended the swift and professional response of their security team and the Tampa Police Department.
“We take the safety and security of our guests and employees very seriously,” said Seminole Hard Rock Tampa in a statement. “We are grateful for the quick and thorough response of the authorities in ensuring the safety of everyone on the premises.”
The investigation into the two incidents is ongoing, and authorities are working to determine the source and intent of the devices. In the meantime, the casino has reopened to guests, who are being assured that every precaution is being taken to ensure their safety.
As the evening wore on and the casino slowly returned to normal operations, guests could be seen milling about, trying to put the events of the day behind them. Despite the disruptions, many expressed a determination to continue enjoying their time at Seminole Hard Rock Tampa, undeterred by the scare.
“I’m not going to let a couple of incidents ruin my night,” said one guest. “I came here to have fun, and that’s exactly what I’m going to do.”
