Des Plaines, IL – The Des Plaines Police Department is currently investigating an armed robbery that took place in the parking lot of Rivers Casino early this morning. The incident occurred at approximately 3:00 am, when a casino patron was reportedly confronted by an armed assailant who demanded money.
According to witnesses at the scene, the victim had just exited the casino and was walking to their car when the suspect approached them with a firearm. The suspect allegedly threatened the victim and demanded that they hand over their cash and belongings. The victim complied with the assailant’s demands, and the suspect fled the scene on foot with an undisclosed amount of money.
Des Plaines police were immediately alerted to the incident and arrived at the scene within minutes. Officers conducted a thorough search of the area but were unable to locate the suspect. The victim, who was unharmed in the incident, provided authorities with a description of the suspect, who is believed to be a male in his mid-20s wearing dark clothing.
