In a major crackdown on illegal gambling activities, twelve individuals were arrested after a raid was conducted at a gambling den in Nagpur on Friday night. The raid, which was carried out by a team of police officers from the Nagpur Police Department, uncovered a sophisticated operation that was operating under the radar of law enforcement authorities.
According to sources within the Nagpur Police Department, the gambling den was a well-organized operation that had been running for several months, attracting a large number of patrons on a regular basis. The den was reportedly equipped with high-tech surveillance equipment, allowing the organizers to monitor the activities of the players and ensure that they were not being targeted by law enforcement agencies.
During the raid, police officers seized a large quantity of cash, as well as several electronic devices that were used in the operation of the gambling den. In addition to the arrests, two police officers who were found to be complicit in the activities of the den were immediately suspended, pending further investigation. Another police officer who was found to be negligent in his duties during the raid was transferred to a different department.
Speaking to reporters after the raid, Nagpur Police Commissioner Ramesh Kumar expressed his satisfaction with the success of the operation, stating that the police department would continue to crack down on illegal gambling activities in the city. “We will not tolerate any form of illegal gambling in Nagpur,” he said. “Those who choose to engage in such activities will be apprehended and brought to justice.”
The arrests at the gambling den come as part of a larger effort by the Nagpur Police Department to combat organized crime in the city. Earlier this year, several individuals were arrested in connection with a major drug trafficking operation that was uncovered by the police. The department has pledged to continue its efforts to ensure the safety and security of the residents of Nagpur.
