Residents in the Casino Road area of Everett are expressing heightened safety concerns following a recent shooting incident that left one man injured.
The incident occurred on a Monday evening, when shots rang out in the typically quiet neighborhood. Witnesses reported hearing multiple gunshots and seeing a group of individuals fleeing the scene. The victim, a young man in his 20s, was found with gunshot wounds and rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment. His current condition is unknown.
Local law enforcement quickly responded to the scene and launched an investigation into the shooting. Despite their efforts, the perpetrators remain at large, leaving residents on edge and fearful for their safety.
“I used to feel safe walking home from work at night, but now I’m terrified,” said Sarah Thompson, a longtime resident of Casino Road. “I don’t know who could be behind this violence, and that’s a scary thought.”
This shooting is just the latest in a string of violent incidents that have plagued the Casino Road area in recent months. Residents have reported an increase in crime, including drug activities and gang-related violence. Many believe that the lack of police presence in the neighborhood is contributing to the rise in criminal activity.
“We need more police patrols in this area to keep us safe,” said Maria Lopez, another concerned resident. “It’s not enough to just react to these incidents after they happen. We need preventive measures in place to deter criminals from targeting our community.”
Local officials have acknowledged the residents’ concerns and have pledged to increase police presence in the area. Everett Police Chief Dan Templeman has assured the community that they are working diligently to apprehend the individuals responsible for the recent shooting and bring them to justice.
“We take these incidents very seriously and are committed to keeping our community safe,” Chief Templeman stated. “We urge residents to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities to law enforcement immediately.”
As the investigation into the shooting continues, residents are left hoping for a swift resolution and a return to peace and safety in their neighborhood. In the meantime, many are taking extra precautions to protect themselves and their families from potential harm.
“We need to come together as a community and look out for each other,” said Thompson. “We can’t let fear dictate our lives. We need to stand strong and united against these acts of violence.”
