A global computer outage has wreaked havoc on Coast casinos and other businesses, leaving employees and patrons frustrated and uncertain about when operations will resume.
The outage, which began early Thursday morning, has affected a number of major businesses on the Coast, including several casinos in Biloxi and Gulfport. Employees arriving for their shifts were greeted with locked doors and signs citing technical difficulties.
“It’s been a nightmare,” said Maria Rodriguez, a bartender at one of the affected casinos. “We rely on this job to pay our bills and support our families, and now we’re just sitting at home twiddling our thumbs. It’s frustrating and stressful.”
The outage has also impacted patrons who had planned vacations or weekend getaways at the casinos, many of whom had to cancel reservations and find alternative accommodations.
“It’s really disappointing,” said John Thompson, who had planned a weekend trip with his wife. “We were looking forward to relaxing and having a good time, but now we’re left scrambling to find somewhere else to stay. It’s a real inconvenience.”
In addition to the casinos, other businesses in the area have also been affected by the outage. Restaurants, shops, and hotels have reported difficulties with their computer systems, leading to delays and confusion for customers.
“We’re doing our best to work around the issue, but it’s definitely causing problems,” said Sarah Johnson, manager of a local restaurant. “We’ve had to take orders manually and process payments by hand, which is time-consuming and prone to errors. It’s not ideal, to say the least.”
Tech teams are working tirelessly to resolve the issue, but so far no timeline has been provided for when services will be restored. In the meantime, businesses are left to deal with the fallout and figure out how to salvage what they can from the disrupted operations.
“It’s a tough situation for everyone involved,” said a spokesperson for one of the affected casinos. “We’re working nonstop to find a solution and get back up and running, but it’s a complex problem that will take time to fix. We appreciate our employees’ patience and understanding during this challenging time.”
As businesses on the Coast struggle to recover from the global computer outage, employees and patrons are left in limbo, unsure of when normal operations will resume and how long the disruption will last. In the meantime, they’re left to navigate the chaos and uncertainty as best they can.
