Tioga Downs Casino in Nichols, New York, recently had a special celebration for one of its most loyal and oldest patrons. On Tuesday, May 4th, the casino hosted a birthday party for Mary Johnson, who turned an incredible 105 years old.
Ms. Johnson has been a regular at Tioga Downs since it first opened its doors in 2006. She has always been a fan of the slot machines and can be found at her favorite one almost every day.
The birthday celebration was a grand affair, with the casino going all out to make sure Ms. Johnson had a day to remember. There was a special birthday cake made just for her, as well as balloons and decorations throughout the casino in her honor.
Friends and family gathered to celebrate with Ms. Johnson, and the casino staff also joined in on the festivities. General Manager, Scott Freeman, made a special speech thanking Ms. Johnson for her loyalty and dedication to Tioga Downs over the years.
“Mary is such a special part of our Tioga Downs family,” Freeman said. “She brings a smile to everyone’s face when she walks through the doors, and we are so grateful to have her as a patron.”
Ms. Johnson was thrilled with the party and expressed her gratitude to everyone who came out to celebrate with her. She said that she never expected to live to 105, but she feels blessed to have reached this milestone.
“I love coming to Tioga Downs and playing the slots,” Ms. Johnson said. “It keeps me young at heart, and I am so grateful for the wonderful staff here who make me feel welcome every day.”
As a special gift, Tioga Downs presented Ms. Johnson with a lifetime VIP pass to the casino, as well as a generous gift card to use on the slot machines. They also promised to throw her an even bigger celebration when she turns 110.
