Las Vegas, NV – In an unprecedented move, Vegas Golden Knights star forward Jonathan Marchessault has announced that he will be launching the 55th World Series of Poker in Las Vegas this summer.
Marchessault, an avid poker player himself, has combined his love for the game with his passion for giving back to the community. The NHL champion has partnered with the World Series of Poker to create a charity poker event that will raise funds for various local charities in Las Vegas.
“I am thrilled to be able to combine my two passions – hockey and poker – to help support the amazing work that these charities are doing in our community,” Marchessault said in a statement.
The charity event, which will take place at the Rio All-Suite Hotel and Casino, will feature some of the biggest names in poker, as well as celebrities and athletes from various sports. The buy-in for the tournament will be $10,000, with all proceeds going to charity.
“I’m really excited to be a part of this event and to help raise money for such important causes,” said professional poker player Phil Hellmuth. “It’s great to see athletes like Jonathan using their platform to make a positive impact in the community.”
In addition to the charity tournament, Marchessault will also be hosting a poker clinic for young fans, where he will share tips and strategies for improving their poker game. The clinic will be free for attendees, with donations encouraged to support the charity beneficiaries.
The World Series of Poker, which is the largest and most prestigious poker tournament in the world, is set to kick off on July 1st and run until August 3rd. Marchessault’s charity event will take place on July 15th, with a star-studded lineup expected to attend.
“I can’t wait to see some of the best poker players in the world come together for a great cause,” Marchessault said. “It’s going to be a fantastic event and I’m honored to be a part of it.”
Tickets for the charity tournament are expected to sell out quickly, so fans are encouraged to purchase them as soon as possible. For more information on the event and how to get involved, visit the World Series of Poker website.
