Oklahoma catcher Kinzie Hansen joined Eddie and Ryan on The Franchise Morning Show to recap the highly anticipated Bedlam softball series between the Sooners and the Oklahoma State Cowgirls.
Hansen, a standout sophomore for the Sooners, played a key role in helping Oklahoma sweep the three-game series against their in-state rivals. In the first game of the series, Hansen belted a home run to help lead the Sooners to a 7-0 victory. She continued her strong performance in the second game, driving in three runs as Oklahoma secured a 9-0 win. The Sooners completed the sweep with a 4-1 victory in the final game of the series.
During her appearance on the show, Hansen discussed the intensity of the Bedlam series and the importance of coming out on top against a tough opponent like Oklahoma State. She also shared her thoughts on the team’s performance and what it means for their season going forward.
“It was a great series for us as a team,” Hansen said. “We knew coming in that it was going to be a tough matchup, but we were able to execute our game plan and come out with three big wins. It’s a huge confidence boost for us moving forward.”
Hansen also praised her teammates for their contributions throughout the series, highlighting the strong pitching performances and clutch hitting that propelled the Sooners to victory.
“We have a lot of talent on this team, and it showed in the Bedlam series,” Hansen said. “Everyone stepped up and did their part to help us get the wins. It’s a great feeling to know that we can rely on each other when it matters most.”
As the Sooners look ahead to the rest of the season, Hansen emphasized the importance of staying focused and continuing to improve with each game.
“We have a lot of talented teams left on our schedule, so we can’t afford to let up,” Hansen said. “We need to keep working hard in practice and stay disciplined in games to keep our winning streak alive.”
With Hansen leading the way both behind the plate and at the plate, the Sooners are poised to make a strong push for a national championship this season. Fans can tune in to see Hansen and the rest of the team in action as they continue their quest for greatness.
