Q Casino broke ground on a new hotel and event center on Wednesday, marking a significant milestone for the Dubuque-based entertainment destination.
The groundbreaking ceremony was attended by a crowd of excited onlookers, including local dignitaries, Q Casino employees, and members of the community. The event kicked off with a welcome speech from Q Casino CEO, Dan Kehl, who expressed his enthusiasm for the project and thanked all those who have supported the development.
The new hotel, which will be located adjacent to the existing Q Casino and Q Showroom, will feature 150 guest rooms, a state-of-the-art event center, and a variety of amenities such as a fitness center, indoor pool, and restaurant. The hotel will also offer stunning views of the Mississippi River and downtown Dubuque.
“This new hotel and event center will enhance the overall experience for our guests and will provide a convenient option for those looking to stay and play at Q Casino,” Kehl said. “We are excited to bring this new addition to the community and continue to grow as a premier entertainment destination in the Midwest.”
The project is expected to create over 100 jobs during construction and will bring an estimated 50 full-time and 50 part-time positions once the hotel is open to the public. In addition, the hotel is projected to generate millions of dollars in economic impact and bring more visitors to the Dubuque area.
Local officials and community members are also excited about the new development and the positive impact it will have on the local economy.
“This new hotel will be a game-changer for Dubuque,” said Dubuque Mayor, Roy Buol. “It will not only create jobs and stimulate economic growth, but it will also provide a new upscale lodging option for visitors to our city.”
Construction on the new hotel and event center is expected to be completed in the next 18 months, with an anticipated grand opening in early 2023. Q Casino is currently accepting reservations for the new hotel and event center.
