Service: Iron Bowl Casino Kickoff Party Helps Robert Reed Foundation Raise Money to Fight GI Cancers
Birmingham, AL – The Robert Reed Foundation, a nonprofit organization dedicated to raising awareness and funds to fight gastrointestinal (GI) cancers, hosted their annual Iron Bowl Casino Kickoff Party on Saturday night at the Birmingham Country Club. The event was a huge success, attracting over 300 guests and raising over $50,000 for the foundation’s cause.
Guests were treated to a night of casino-style gaming, delicious food, and live entertainment, all in support of a great cause. The party kicked off with a cocktail hour, where guests mingled and enjoyed hors d’oeuvres and drinks before hitting the gaming tables. Professional dealers were on hand to run games such as blackjack, poker, and roulette, giving guests the feel of a real casino experience.
In addition to the gaming, guests were able to bid on a variety of silent auction items, including sports memorabilia, luxury vacations, and spa packages. The highlight of the auction was a football signed by both head coaches of the Alabama and Auburn football teams, which fetched an impressive $5,000.
The evening also featured a live performance by a local band, providing the perfect soundtrack for guests to dance the night away. And no party would be complete without delicious food, and guests were treated to a buffet of gourmet dishes and desserts, all generously donated by local restaurants and businesses.
But beyond the fun and excitement of the evening, the real focus of the event was on raising money to support the Robert Reed Foundation’s mission of fighting GI cancers. The foundation was established in memory of Robert Reed, a beloved husband, father, and friend who lost his battle with colon cancer in 2015. Since then, the foundation has raised over $250,000 to fund research, support patients, and increase awareness of GI cancers.
“We are so grateful for the support of our community in helping us raise funds to fight these devastating diseases,” said Sarah Reed, co-founder of the Robert Reed Foundation. “Events like the Iron Bowl Casino Kickoff Party not only raise money for a great cause but also bring people together to show their support for those affected by GI cancers.”
Overall, the Iron Bowl Casino Kickoff Party was a huge success, raising vital funds for the Robert Reed Foundation’s important work. As guests left the event, they did so knowing that they had made a difference in the fight against GI cancers, and had a lot of fun in the process.
