The Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Tejon is one step closer to completion after successfully holding a topping off ceremony on Thursday, marking a significant milestone in the construction process. The event, attended by local officials, stakeholders, and members of the press, showcased the progress made on the $600 million project, which is set to transform the Tehachapi Mountains into a premier gaming and entertainment destination.
The topping off ceremony, a tradition in the construction industry, signifies the completion of the highest point of the building’s structure. In this case, the final steel beam was ceremoniously hoisted into place, adorned with an American flag and a small tree, symbolizing growth and good luck. Attendees watched in awe as the beam was secured, marking the official topping off of the 400-foot hotel tower.
“This is a momentous occasion for the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Tejon project,” said Jim Allen, Chairman of Hard Rock International. “We are thrilled to see the progress being made and look forward to welcoming guests from near and far to experience the unparalleled entertainment and hospitality that the Hard Rock brand is known for.”
The Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Tejon, situated on 85 acres of land in Tejon Ranch, will feature a 400-room luxury hotel, a 200,000 square foot casino floor, multiple restaurants and bars, retail shops, a spa, and a convention center. The property will also boast a state-of-the-art entertainment venue, hosting live performances and events by top artists and performers.
“We are excited to bring the Hard Rock brand to the beautiful Tehachapi Mountains,” said Allen. “The Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Tejon will not only create jobs and economic opportunities for the local community but will also establish itself as a must-visit destination for guests looking for an unforgettable entertainment experience.”
Construction on the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Tejon began in 2020 and is expected to be completed by late 2023. The project has already created hundreds of jobs for local workers and will continue to support the economy through ongoing operations and partnerships with local businesses.
As the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Tejon nears completion, excitement continues to build for the grand opening celebration, which promises to be a spectacle of music, gaming, dining, and entertainment. Stay tuned for more updates on this groundbreaking project as it continues to reshape the landscape of the Tehachapi Mountains.
