Police in Las Vegas are on the hunt for a pair of brazen thieves who targeted a couple leaving a local casino and managed to make off with their winnings, only to leave behind the couple’s half-eaten dinner.
The incident occurred on Saturday night when the couple, who have chosen to remain anonymous, had just finished a successful night at a popular casino on the Las Vegas strip. As they exited the establishment, the thieves approached them in the parking lot, brandishing a weapon and demanding the couple hand over their winnings.
According to police reports, the thieves made off with a significant sum of cash before fleeing the scene in a waiting vehicle. The couple was left unharmed, but shaken by the ordeal.
In a surprising twist, however, the thieves left behind the couple’s half-eaten dinner, which had been packed up for them by the casino’s restaurant. Authorities have speculated that the thieves may have been in a hurry to make their escape and simply forgot to take the leftover meal with them.
The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department has launched an investigation into the incident and is asking anyone with information to come forward. They have also issued a warning to casino-goers to be vigilant of their surroundings and to avoid carrying large sums of cash while leaving the establishments.
“We take these incidents very seriously and will do everything in our power to apprehend those responsible,” said Lt. James Davidson of the LVMPD. “We urge anyone with information to come forward and help us bring these criminals to justice.”
The couple has expressed gratitude for the quick response of the police and are hopeful that the thieves will be apprehended soon. In the meantime, they are counting their blessings that they were not harmed during the incident.
As the search for the thieves continues, the residents of Las Vegas are reminded to stay safe and be cautious while enjoying the city’s vibrant nightlife and entertainment options.
