LAS VEGAS – Guests at the off-Strip hotel-casino, The Silver Lining, were in for a surprise last night as all the elevators in the building suddenly went out of service. The incident occured at around 9pm on Thursday evening, leaving hundreds of guests stranded on various floors of the 25-story hotel.
According to hotel management, a power surge caused the elevators to malfunction. The outage lasted for nearly two hours before technicians were able to restore power and get the elevators back up and running. In the meantime, hotel staff had to manually guide guests to their rooms using the stairs.
“It was quite the ordeal,” said Cynthia Johnson, a guest staying on the 20th floor. “I had just come back from a night out and was looking forward to getting to my room quickly. But instead, I had to climb 20 flights of stairs.”
Despite the inconvenience, many guests maintained a sense of humor about the situation. “I guess I got my workout in for the day,” joked Tom Green, another guest staying at the hotel.
The Silver Lining is known for its affordable rates and off-Strip location, making it a popular choice for budget-conscious travelers. The hotel-casino features a variety of amenities, including a casino, restaurants, and a pool.
In a statement, hotel management apologized for the inconvenience and thanked guests for their patience during the incident. They assured guests that steps are being taken to prevent a similar outage from happening again in the future.
As of Friday morning, the elevators at The Silver Lining are back in operation and guests are able to move freely throughout the building. Despite the temporary setback, guests are enjoying their stay at the hotel-casino and making the most of their time in Las Vegas.
