Rapper Nelly, whose real name is Cornell Iral Haynes Jr., found himself in hot water over the weekend after being arrested at a casino in Las Vegas, according to a police report obtained by KFYR.
The incident occurred late Saturday night at the Bellagio Hotel and Casino, where Nelly was reportedly seen causing a disturbance at a craps table. Casino staff alerted security, who then contacted the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department.
When officers arrived on the scene, they found Nelly being escorted out of the casino by security. According to the police report, the “Hot in Herre” rapper was visibly intoxicated and uncooperative with police.
Nelly was placed under arrest for disorderly conduct and trespassing, the report stated. He was taken to the Clark County Detention Center and booked on misdemeanor charges. He was released the following morning after posting bail.
This is not the first time Nelly has run into legal trouble. In 2015, he was arrested in Tennessee on drug charges after his tour bus was pulled over and methamphetamine, marijuana, and handguns were found on board. He later pleaded guilty to possession of marijuana and was sentenced to probation.
Nelly rose to fame in the early 2000s with hits like “Country Grammar” and “Ride wit Me.” He has won multiple Grammy Awards and has sold over 20 million records worldwide.
Representatives for Nelly have not yet commented on the incident. It remains unclear what led to the rapper’s behavior at the casino or if he will face additional charges. Fans and critics alike will be eagerly awaiting further updates on the situation.
