Rapper Nelly, known for his hit songs such as “Hot in Herre” and “Ride wit Me,” found himself in trouble with the law once again after being arrested at a casino in Canada on charges of drug possession and failing to obtain insurance.
The incident occurred at the Fallsview Casino Resort in Niagara Falls, Ontario, where Nelly was scheduled to perform a concert. According to reports, security personnel at the casino became suspicious of Nelly and his entourage after noticing a strong odor of marijuana coming from their hotel room. Upon investigating further, casino security allegedly discovered a large quantity of marijuana, as well as other illicit substances, in the room.
Local law enforcement was called to the scene, and Nelly and several members of his entourage were taken into custody. Nelly was charged with drug possession and failing to obtain insurance, while the other individuals involved were also charged with various drug-related offenses.
This is not the first time Nelly has had a run-in with the law. In 2015, he was arrested on charges of drug possession and weapons offenses after his tour bus was stopped in Tennessee and a search revealed marijuana, methamphetamine, and several firearms. Nelly ultimately pleaded guilty to misdemeanor charges and was able to avoid a lengthy jail sentence.
As news of Nelly’s latest arrest spread, fans and fellow musicians took to social media to express their shock and disappointment. Many expressed their support for Nelly and hoped that he would be able to overcome this latest setback.
Nelly’s legal team has not yet issued a statement regarding the charges, but it is expected that they will mount a vigorous defense on his behalf. In the meantime, Nelly remains in custody at the Niagara Regional Police headquarters, awaiting his day in court.
Despite this latest setback, Nelly’s fans remain hopeful that he will be able to put this incident behind him and continue to make music. Only time will tell how this latest chapter in Nelly’s tumultuous life will unfold.
