Ahmedabad, Gujarat: In a shocking turn of events, seven individuals were arrested for their involvement in illegal gambling activities in the posh area of Thaltej, Ahmedabad. The raid, conducted by the local police in collaboration with the Gujarat Anti-Corruption Bureau, took place in the late hours of Saturday night, following a tip-off from a concerned citizen.
According to sources, the arrested individuals were found in possession of a large sum of money, several sets of playing cards, and other gambling paraphernalia. The individuals, whose identities have not been revealed by the authorities, were reportedly engaged in a high-stakes game of poker at a rented apartment in the area.
During the raid, five individuals managed to escape from the scene, leaving behind their accomplices to face the consequences. The police have launched a manhunt to apprehend the absconding suspects and bring them to justice.
Speaking to reporters, Inspector Ramesh Patel of the Thaltej Police Station stated, “Illegal gambling is a serious offense and will not be tolerated in our jurisdiction. We are committed to cracking down on such activities and will not hesitate to take strict action against those found guilty.”
