Dallas, TX – The Dallas Police Department is seeking the public’s help in identifying persons of interest in a deadly shooting at an illegal gambling site that left three people dead and four others injured.
The incident, which took place late Saturday night in a warehouse near downtown Dallas, has left the community in shock and mourning. The victims, all males in their 20s and 30s, were participating in a high-stakes card game when the shooting occurred. Police say the motive for the shooting is still unknown, but they believe it may have been gang-related.
“We are working diligently to gather any information that may lead us to the individuals responsible for this heinous crime,” said Dallas Police Chief Eddie Garcia in a press conference on Sunday. “We need the community’s help in identifying these individuals so we can bring them to justice.”
Surveillance footage from the scene shows several individuals entering and leaving the warehouse around the time of the shooting. Police are asking anyone who may have been in the area or have information about the incident to come forward and share what they know.
“I heard several gunshots and immediately knew something bad had happened,” said a nearby resident who wished to remain anonymous. “It’s terrifying to think that something like this could happen in our neighborhood.”
The illegal gambling site, which had been operating for several months, had drawn complaints from local residents about noise and suspicious activity. Police say they had received multiple reports of illegal gambling taking place at the warehouse, but had not been able to shut it down prior to the shooting.
“We are committed to cracking down on illegal gambling and other criminal activity in our city,” said Chief Garcia. “We will not rest until those responsible for this senseless act of violence are brought to justice.”
Anyone with information about the shooting is urged to contact the Dallas Police Department at (214) 671-3001 or Crime Stoppers at (214) 373-TIPS. All tips will remain anonymous.
