Starting this Monday, history buffs and thrill-seekers alike will have the opportunity to explore the haunted halls of the iconic Canfield Casino in Saratoga Springs. The historic venue, known for its opulent architecture and storied past, will be offering ghost tours to the public for the first time ever.
Built in 1870 by renowned architect John Y. McKane, the Canfield Casino has long been a hotspot for paranormal activity. From the whispered voices in the ballroom to the footsteps echoing down the grand staircase, visitors and staff alike have reported eerie encounters with spirits from the past.
The ghost tours, led by experienced guides with extensive knowledge of the casino’s history, will take guests on a journey through the building’s dark and mysterious past. Visitors will learn about the notorious gambler and casino owner Richard Canfield, whose spirit is said to still roam the halls, as well as the tragic tale of the young opera singer who met her untimely end on the casino grounds.
Participants will have the chance to explore the casino after hours, plunging into the shadows where ghostly apparitions are said to dwell. From the ornate ballroom to the secluded rooms on the upper floors, every corner of the casino holds a story waiting to be told.
“We are thrilled to be able to offer this unique experience to our guests,” said Emily Parker, the casino’s events coordinator. “The Canfield Casino has a rich and fascinating history, and we are excited to share it with those who are brave enough to venture into the realm of the supernatural.”
Tickets for the ghost tours are now available for purchase on the Canfield Casino website. The tours will run every Monday night for the entire month of October, just in time for the spooky season. Whether you’re a believer in the paranormal or simply curious about the mysteries that lie within the walls of the Canfield Casino, this is an experience not to be missed. So gather your courage, and prepare to step into the realm of the unknown at one of Saratoga Springs’ most haunted destinations.
