A Las Vegas woman has been charged with child endangerment after allegedly leaving her 6-month-old baby alone in a car for several hours while she was inside a casino.
The incident occurred on Saturday night at the popular Las Vegas Strip casino. Security guards first noticed the baby alone in the car around 10 pm and immediately contacted authorities.
When police arrived at the scene, they found the baby sweating and crying inside the vehicle, which was parked in the casino’s parking garage. The temperature outside was around 90 degrees Fahrenheit, making the inside of the car even hotter.
According to witnesses, the woman had been inside the casino for at least three hours before security guards noticed the baby in the car. Surveillance footage showed her entering the casino around 7 pm and not returning to the car until after police arrived.
The woman, identified as 33-year-old Samantha Jones, was located inside the casino and taken into custody. She was charged with child endangerment and is currently being held on a $5,000 bond.
Police are still investigating the incident and trying to determine why Jones allegedly left her baby in the car for so long. They have also notified Child Protective Services to ensure the baby’s safety and well-being.
This shocking incident has sparked outrage and concern among the community, with many condemning Jones for her irresponsible actions. Local authorities are reminding parents and caregivers to always prioritize the safety and well-being of their children, especially in potentially dangerous situations like leaving them alone in a car.
The baby is reportedly in good health and is now in the care of Child Protective Services. Jones is scheduled to appear in court later this week to face the charges against her.
