SCHENECTADY, NY – Rivers Casino and Resort held a successful blood drive on Tuesday, partnering with the American Red Cross to help increase blood donations during the ongoing pandemic.
The event took place in the casino’s Event Center, where participants were able to safely donate blood while adhering to social distancing guidelines. Rivers Casino and Resort has been a long-time supporter of the American Red Cross and regularly hosts blood drives to help those in need of blood transfusions.
“We are proud to host another blood drive in partnership with the American Red Cross,” said Justin Moore, General Manager of Rivers Casino and Resort. “Especially during these challenging times, it is important for us to come together as a community and support those in need.”
The blood drive saw a great turnout, with over 50 donors rolling up their sleeves to donate blood. Each donor received a special gift from Rivers Casino and Resort as a thank you for their generous donation.
“We are grateful for the support of Rivers Casino and Resort in hosting this blood drive,” said Melanie Studdard, Account Manager for the American Red Cross. “Every donation helps save lives, and we are thankful for those who took the time to donate today.”
The American Red Cross has faced challenges with blood supply shortages during the pandemic, as many blood drives were canceled due to social distancing measures. Events like the one at Rivers Casino and Resort are crucial in helping replenish the blood supply and provide life-saving transfusions to those in need.
Rivers Casino and Resort plans to continue its partnership with the American Red Cross and host additional blood drives in the future. The casino hopes to encourage more members of the community to donate blood and help save lives.
