However, the road to success was not smooth for Trump in Vegas. Construction delays and cost overruns plagued the project, eventually leading Trump to sell off his stake in the property in 2008. The hotel and casino complex eventually opened in 2008, but without Trump’s involvement.

In 2009, Trump’s company filed for bankruptcy for the fourth time, leading him to step down as chairman of Trump Entertainment Resorts. While Trump may not have had the success he had hoped for in the Las Vegas casino market, his brief stint in the industry left a lasting impact.
