Authorities in Pampa carried out two separate raids on game rooms suspected of illegal gambling activities last night, resulting in multiple arrests and seizures of cash and gaming equipment.
The first raid took place at a popular game room located on Main Street, where undercover officers had been conducting a surveillance operation for several weeks. The officers observed numerous patrons engaging in what appeared to be illegal gambling activities, including playing slot machines and card games for money.
Upon entering the premises, law enforcement officers arrested several individuals, including the owner of the game room, on charges of operating an illegal gambling establishment. They also seized over $10,000 in cash, multiple slot machines, and other gaming equipment.
The second raid occurred at a smaller game room on the outskirts of town, where authorities had received multiple complaints from local residents about suspicious activities. When officers entered the building, they found several individuals engaged in illegal gambling, as well as evidence of drug use.
In this raid, three individuals were arrested on charges of illegal gambling and drug possession. Law enforcement officers also confiscated over $5,000 in cash, as well as several gaming tables and machines.
Both game rooms are now under investigation for violations of state gambling laws, and authorities are urging anyone with information about illegal gambling activities in Pampa to come forward.
“These raids should serve as a warning to others who may be engaging in illegal gambling activities in our community,” said Sheriff John Collins. “We will not tolerate this kind of behavior and will continue to crack down on those who seek to profit from illegal gambling.”
The suspects arrested in the raids are currently awaiting trial, and authorities are working to determine the full extent of the illegal gambling operations in Pampa. Residents are encouraged to report any suspicious activities to local law enforcement to help keep their community safe from illegal gambling.
