Las Vegas, NV – In a surprising turn of events, The Mirage Hotel & Casino announced today that it will be undergoing a major transformation into Hard Rock Las Vegas, starting on July 17, 2024. This change marks the end of an era for The Mirage, which has been a staple of the Las Vegas Strip since its opening in 1989.
The decision to rebrand the iconic hotel and casino comes as part of a strategic effort to revitalize the property and appeal to a younger, more modern audience. Hard Rock International, known for its rock and roll-themed hotels and casinos around the world, will bring its signature flair to Las Vegas with this new venture.
“We are thrilled to bring the Hard Rock experience to Las Vegas and breathe new life into The Mirage,” said Jim Allen, Chairman of Hard Rock International. “Our goal is to create a destination that captures the spirit of rock and roll while also offering top-notch entertainment, dining, and gaming options.”
The transformation of The Mirage into Hard Rock Las Vegas will include a complete renovation of the property, with updated hotel rooms, redesigned casino spaces, and new dining and entertainment offerings. The iconic volcano display, which has been a highlight of The Mirage for decades, will also be revamped to reflect the new theme.
In addition to the physical changes, Hard Rock Las Vegas will also offer a revamped entertainment lineup, featuring live music performances, celebrity-hosted events, and other exciting experiences. The property will continue to host popular shows and events, such as Cirque du Soleil’s “The Beatles LOVE” and the annual Electric Daisy Carnival.
“We are committed to preserving the legacy of The Mirage while also introducing new elements that will appeal to a broader range of guests,” said Allen. “Hard Rock Las Vegas will be a place where music, entertainment, and gaming come together in a unique and unforgettable way.”
The transformation of The Mirage into Hard Rock Las Vegas is expected to be completed by the end of 2025, with the grand opening scheduled for early 2026. In the meantime, guests can continue to enjoy all of the amenities and attractions that The Mirage has to offer, as the property transitions to its new identity.
As the countdown to the transformation begins, excitement is building among fans of both The Mirage and Hard Rock International. The reimagining of this iconic Las Vegas property promises to be a game-changer for the city’s entertainment and hospitality scene, bringing a fresh and dynamic energy to the world-famous Strip.
