Hollywood Casino Raceway manager Michael Hopkins is gearing up for an exciting season at the track, with a plethora of events and activities planned to keep race fans engaged and entertained.
In a recent interview with FOX Bangor/ABC 7 News, Hopkins discussed some of the exciting things happening at the track this season. One of the highlights is the introduction of several new races, including a special memorial race in honor of a beloved former driver who passed away last year.
“We wanted to do something special to honor his memory and the impact he had on the racing community here at Hollywood Casino Raceway,” said Hopkins. “So we put together a memorial race in his honor, and we’re really excited to pay tribute to him in this way.”
In addition to the memorial race, Hopkins also revealed that the track will be hosting a series of themed race nights throughout the season, including a retro night where drivers and fans are encouraged to dress in 70s and 80s-style attire.
“We wanted to bring some nostalgia to the track and celebrate the history of racing here at Hollywood Casino Raceway,” explained Hopkins. “We’re hoping that these themed race nights will add an extra layer of fun and excitement for both the drivers and the fans.”
Hopkins also announced that the track will be hosting a special charity event later in the season, with proceeds going to a local organization that supports at-risk youth in the community.
“We’re always looking for ways to give back to the community that supports us,” said Hopkins. “We’re excited to use the track as a platform to raise money and awareness for such an important cause.”
