Beloit, Wisconsin – The city of Beloit is set to make history with the announcement of plans to break ground on a new Ho-Chunk casino in the fall of 2024. This groundbreaking project is expected to bring in over 1,500 new jobs for the community and attract tourists from across the state and beyond.
The decision to bring a Ho-Chunk casino to Beloit comes after years of negotiations and planning between city officials and the Ho-Chunk Nation. The casino will be located on a 73-acre site just off Interstate 90, providing easy access for visitors traveling from both Wisconsin and Illinois.
The new casino is expected to feature over 2,000 slot machines, a variety of table games, a hotel, restaurants, and entertainment venues. It will also showcase the rich culture and history of the Ho-Chunk Nation, with traditional artwork and design elements throughout the facility.
“This is a game-changer for Beloit,” said Mayor Regina Dunkin. “Not only will it create much-needed jobs and revenue for our city, but it will also bring in new visitors and help boost our local economy.”
The Ho-Chunk Nation has a long history in Wisconsin, dating back thousands of years. The tribe currently operates several successful casinos in the state, including locations in Baraboo, Black River Falls, and Wisconsin Dells. The addition of a casino in Beloit will further solidify the tribe’s presence in the region and provide new opportunities for economic development.
Construction is set to begin in the fall of 2024, with the casino expected to open to the public in late 2026. The project is estimated to cost over $400 million and will be a major investment in the future of Beloit.
“We are thrilled to bring our unique brand of entertainment and hospitality to the city of Beloit,” said Ho-Chunk Nation President Jon Greendeer. “We look forward to working with the community to create a world-class destination that will benefit everyone involved.”
As the city of Beloit prepares for this exciting new development, residents are eager to see the positive impact that the Ho-Chunk casino will have on their community. With job opportunities, increased tourism, and a boost to the local economy, the future looks bright for Beloit.
