IBM, one of the world’s leading technology companies, has announced its acquisition of StreamSets and webMethods Platforms from Software AG in a move that is set to further strengthen its position in the cloud and data integration market.
StreamSets is a data integration platform that enables organizations to efficiently move and transform data between systems, while webMethods is a leading integration platform that helps businesses connect disparate systems and applications to streamline processes and improve efficiency.
The acquisition of these platforms will not only enhance IBM’s existing data integration capabilities but also provide customers with a comprehensive suite of tools to better manage their data and drive digital transformation initiatives.
“With the acquisition of StreamSets and webMethods Platforms, IBM will be able to offer customers a more comprehensive set of data integration solutions that will help them address their most pressing business challenges,” said Rob Thomas, Senior Vice President, IBM Cloud and Data Platform.
IBM has been actively expanding its cloud and data integration portfolio in recent years, acquiring several companies including Red Hat and Turbonomic to bolster its offerings in these areas. The addition of StreamSets and webMethods Platforms will further solidify IBM’s position as a leader in the data integration market.
“We are excited to join forces with IBM and continue our mission of helping organizations harness the power of data to drive innovation and achieve their business goals,” said Girish Pancha, Co-founder and CEO of StreamSets.
The acquisition is expected to close in the second half of 2022, subject to regulatory approvals. Once the deal is finalized, IBM will work closely with Software AG to ensure a smooth transition for customers and partners.
Overall, the acquisition of StreamSets and webMethods Platforms by IBM is a strategic move that will further enhance the company’s data integration capabilities and position it as a market leader in this space. It will also provide customers with a more comprehensive set of tools to help them effectively manage their data and drive digital transformation initiatives.
